INTERmedic hair removal treatment applies to all skin types. Using the
appropriate settings, even dark skin can be safely treated.
The principle involved:
Light energy penetrates the tissue and destroys the entire follicle
and hair bulb without harming adjacent tissue structures. This is possible
because the energy is effectively absorbed by the pigments (melanin)
of the hair shafts. The absorbed energy is now effective as heat which
in turn deactivates the capacity of follicles and bulbs to produce hair.
To reliably stop reactivation of the hair its re-growth cycle needs
to be considered. Optimal results are achieved after several treatment
sessions. The number of sessions needed depends on the individual hair
color and phase of growth.
Safety & patient comfort:
If larger areas are being treated, the safe and effective Contact Skin
Cooling™ system allows the skin to be cooled down before, during
and after each laser energy application. A cooling system integrated
in the application handset, the FreezeTip™, is optimized for small
or anatomically difficult treatment zones, assuring highest patient
comfort and maximum protection of the epidermis. The patient suffers
neither pain nor skin damage during treatment.
